Newbie Webmasters have to be open-minded from the start because that is the only way they are going to learn the basics of SEO (search engine optimization). It is a practice that always changes, which requires some creativity and good research. Here is a look at the options newbie Webmasters have when it comes to SEO.

D.I.Y Style

There aren’t any rules that state you have to hire an expert for your SEO services and yes, it is possible to do it by yourself. How deep you’ll be able to go is another question, though.

Take for example the content on the site, which has to be original, useful, and written for human users. The content should also use the perfect amount of keywords and phrases. Otherwise, the site will get penalized for stuffing.

How about the niche the content is about? Is it popular and how much depth does it have compared to other sites with similar themes? It’s important that the content isn’t just great. It has to be outstanding.

The second big thing is the design of the site, which has to conform to certain requirements. These elements include a quick loading time, ease of access for search engine crawlers, visual appeal and maybe some healthy inbound links.

Using An Expert

If you honestly don’t feel like spending hours finding the right keywords and writing content, or designing a website for that matter, you can contract the services of a professional. Yes, it’s going to cost some money, but you can consider it an investment.

We were told by one Edmonton SEO company, “Experts aren’t just going to take the burden of repetitive work from your hands; they will also use their skills to improve the visibility. Professionals have a lot of knowledge they’ve gained with their experience, which is something to consider.”

Some Final Thoughts

Whether you do it alone or hire a professional, keep those SEO tactics on the clean side.

seo tips for beginners

SEO is a very difficult to learn and never ending topic for bloggers, the more you learn, the better you get. In my past six months of my blogging career, believe me, every day I learn new SEO tips from one or another blog sites. But what if you have just started, you cannot be very technical in the early stages. So you need first to begin with the ABCs of it. And here I am going to teach it to you. Some basic SEO tips that every beginner should learn right away.

1) Catchy Post Titles

Catchy post titles are a very easy to learn SEO tip, make sure whenever you write a new post make the title of the post very catchy and attractive. People would never like to see a post which has a very dull and boring title. Let’s take this post as an Example – A Good Title “Top 5 Killer SEO Tips For Beginners” and the boring one “Some SEO Tips.” Include some catchy headlining words in the post title. In this case “Top 5 Killer.” Whenever you search for anything on Google you get thousands of results, but do you visit all of them? No, you only visit the one which you think would give the perfect information and would seem to you very catchy.

2) Use Social Media

The main secret for SEO for beginners lies in Social Media. It’s not a very complicated task and anyone can do this. Use social media, each and every one on which you can get your hands on to create a profile and post. Use Facebook, Twitter and especially Google+. The population on social sites keeps increasing. Target the audience with your brand name where you will find more people. It can bring huge traffic to your site and consequently improve your rankings on Search Engines.

3) Linking Pages

“The biggest example you can see yourself is if you read Wikipedia. Have you seen how they interlink each and every post on their site within the related posts? That’s why their site has such a lower bounce rate, i.e. no. of visitors that include just one-page view.” Odell Coss, a Las Vegas SEO expert stresses.

“So, connect your posts within one another and see the results yourself. This tip will keep your audience for more time on your site and will maintain the flow. Include a popular post widget below each and every post on your site or in the sidebar so that people can see it clearly will help a lot.”

4) Use SiteMaps

Using a sitemap can help a lot as it just gives the search engines a map so that they can quickly navigate and index each and every page of your site. There are many popular plugins available for the WordPress platform which can help you do this task easily. One of my favorite and the one which I am using right now is SiteMap XML. So go ahead and create a sitemap for the site and submit it to Google through the Webmasters Tools Page.

5) Write Guest Posts

Guest posts can help you both in getting traffic to your site as well as building some backlinks. The main reason for doing so is since you have just started out; therefore, the chances are you might not get a lot of views. So if you write guest posts for some significant sites, you will surely get a backlink through that post and the second is that people might visit your site from the guest post if they like it. I occasionally write for many blogs and believe me just a single post over there brings a considerable amount of traffic to my site.

So these were some basic SEO tips that can help you shoot out your online business if you have just started out. If you think I left out something, then do share it in the comments section given below.

Essential SEO Tips for Web Designers

essential seo tips for web designers

Make the Website Easy to Navigate

Since search engines take into consideration a website’s bounce rate, web designers should make websites that are easy to navigate. Easy navigation will benefit your visitors a lot, as they will easily be able to find what they are trying to find. Your visitors should also be only three clicks away from the things they need. It means that your visitors should not go too deep into the website to get access to anything they want. Your should recall that usability and ease of use are the watchwords of web design these days.

Include Keywords in the Categories

The website’s categories should include the keywords or keyphrases that visitors search in the search engines to make search engines happy because they will know what the website is all about. So make sure your website has tons of keywords or keyphrases in those important parts of the virtual property. The website must also have tons of H1 tags with keywords and keyphrases. You can also use Google Keyword Planner to find those keywords and key phrases in an instant. When designing a website, designers should use the Google Webmaster Tool as this software will allow you them to create SEO-friendly websites.

Clean Content

“Your website content shouldn’t be buried in any rich media such as Ajax, JavaScript, and Flash. Your rich media should not link to any crawler out there too. Designers should also make sure that the website has fresh, unique content. Though a web designer is more concerned with the beauty of the virtual property, they should pay close attention to the website’s content as search engines take this factor seriously into account. A website should be built for users, not search engines. Linking back to the website is also important, and web designers need to consider this.” points out Vera Sandoval of Phoenix SEO.

A sitemap is imperative, and every web designer should take this into consideration. A sitemap links and lists to all the most relevant pages on any website to make spiders happy, as they will easily be able to search a site. Your visitors should not have to click a lot of pages to get to any part of a website, and this is paramount. Avoiding flash is another thing web designers should bear in mind these days. The problem with AJAX, Flash and Frames is that a designer cannot link to any page.

Describe Your Images

Any image in the website should be defined. It means that search engines should know what the image is all about, as they cannot read images. So your image’s description should be as detailed as possible. The ALT tag is the place to use if you want to include a description of your image. You should give every image a proper description so that search engines may know what an image is all about. What about text around your images? This text is also valuable, and a web designer should include keywords and keyphrases here. These are some essential SEO tips for web designers that you need to bear in mind.

That is the reason I’ve come up with this collection of thoughts, a look into the future of Search Engine Optimization, from experienced industry experts who know precisely what you have to be doing.

Don’t Neglect The Effectiveness Of Backlinks

Based on the latest Search Engine Ranking Factors Research carried out by Brian Dean this, after studying 1 million search engine results, it was evident that backlinks not just do affect rankings however that their influence was more than almost every factor.

He indicates that there are three main qualities of a top ranking link profile. The amount of backlinks as a whole, the quality of the links and the utilization of strong, appropriate anchor texts. But, he does warn that gaining backlinks with the same anchor text, again and again, is putting your website in danger of getting penalized.

Don’t Under Estimate The Worth Of Your Content

Regularly adding articles is not just a powerful search engine optimization strategy but that it should be a critical part of the SEO campaign in 2016. Putting an emphasis on that adding “valuable content“ needs to be the soul and heart of your SEO technique.

Your content will need to meet a few particular requirements to be able to be deemed “valuable” and an influential section of your search engine optimization campaign.

Need a fast formula for developing SEO powered articles?

First ensure it’s appropriate. The relevance of your articles is graded in a few techniques. Modern semantic search aspects will help Google’s search engine figure out the primary intent and general context of your website pages and blog articles.

Secondly, produce fantastic headlines, make the content simple to read, post always. Bounce rates as well as time on site help Google to evaluate if your content is enticing and traffic worthy.

Right now go and write content, a lot of it. Make sure it’s useful to your visitors. Write long thorough articles with images, graphs and all the components listed above and your content will assist you to dominate.

Yes! Social Signals Are Surely Element Of The Equation

Previously last year Simon Penson posted a content Has Google Raised Social Signals as a Factor for ranking on Search Engine Watch in which he shares useful insight he has found out associated with Google’s observing of each content top notch as well as “quality signals”.

While checking website data with regards to social signal activity, he states that “sharing is a definite verification of quality” in Google’s algorithm upgrades and that his first data means that both Facebook, as well as Google Plus, appear to be passing the most compelling signals so far.

What exactly are we to get from this? Well, as opposed to 2015 when we all sat back without placing too much effort and time into handling our social media profiles 2016 will have to change.

Things to Consider When Building a Mobile Friendly Website

February 2, 2016 at 2:05 am

With over half of traffic coming in from mobile devices- and some sectors seeing an even higher number of mobile users- making your website mobile-friendly is a crucial effort, and may help push you ahead of your competitors. But do you know where to begin; or what makes a website ideal for mobile devices?

Mobile Design

To help get you started, we’ve put together a simple outline here with a number of considerations you have to bear in mind, in addition to a few tips and tricks.

Top 3 things everyone should know when building a mobile-friendly site

1. Select the right approach

There are a number of approaches to designing a mobile-friendly website, and they are divided into three ‘types’, with each providing a unique experience for users.

· Responsive: this option keeps the HTML, URL, images, and everything else intact, but the CSS gives different rules depending on browser width.

· Dynamic Serving/Adaptive/RESS: the address stays the same but the server sends out different CSS and HTML based on the device requesting the page.

· Distinct mobile site: another option is to host the website separately on a subdomain- e.g. mobile.website.com. Alternatively, the website can use the same URL as the desktop, provided it serves different HTML (dynamic serving) based on user agent.

2. Designing the website

Bear in mind site visitors expect to see the same themes, colors and content on the main website, that way they know for sure they are on the right website. The actual structure of the pages may be different because a mobile site can only display one or two elements at a time, but that’s perfectly fine.

· Organizing content: mobile first is a recent approach to web design and it basically means creating a mobile site and then expanding the pages to incorporate desktops and tablets. It works because everything on a mobile site –except perhaps specific mobile features- can be transferred onto a desktop site with little technical effort.

· Facilitating easy navigation: most mobile devices don’t have screens large enough to view a big navigation menu in addition to the primary content; which is why websites such as Facebook.com and Nytimes.com rely on the three-line method and magnifying glass.

· Use Google Analytics to find out what types of smartphones your visitors commonly use. Most smartphones display 320px-400px across but other devices such as tablets have a bigger pixel display.

Designing mobile site for touch

Unfortunately fingers cannot hover or right click, and they need ample space between links to make sure the user doesn’t accidentally click the wrong one. When adjusting the site for touch:

· Leave enough space for a finger: users with clumsy fingers may have a difficult time navigating your site so keep the minimum space around links at around 28 x 28 pixels.

· Always give feedback when screen is touched: sometimes with slow connectivity, users may have to wait a while to move to the next page when they click a button, which is why it helps to highlight a linked box or show the button indent to let them know the phone has recorded their request.

· Use buttons to highlight clickable areas. Because users don’t have the usual mouse signals to show active links, use buttons to better define clickable areas.

There are dozens of tweaks that can improve user experience in mobile sites. Just make sure to constantly improve on features as new options emerge.
